Assigning codes as you speak
Clinical coding is the conversion of medical terminology created by a clinician to describe a patient’s complaint, problem, diagnosis, treatment or reason for seeking medical attention, into a coded format. This is typically nationally and internationally recognised coding. Historically these codes have been manually inputted by individuals trained on clinical codes after reports are created.
Information from hospital case reports and notes for each patient needs to be expressed as codes. This includes the operation/treatment, diagnosis, complications and comorbidities. With the clinical coding functionality within SpeechReport codes such as SNOMED CT, ICD-10 and RadLex can automatically be added on reports created immediately.
This helps to save a significant amount of time and enables you to extract accurate, reliable data which is coded.
Data can automatically and securely be supplied to third parties via HL7 messaging.
