In line with National Pathology Week, 4 – 10 November 2019, we are delighted to announce G2 Speech and LogicNets have forged a new partnership. The new development is set to extend the benefits of G2 Speech’s existing clinical workflow management solution with the intelligence platform provided by LogicNets, offering clinical decision support (CDS) to pathologists and other healthcare professionals across the UK and Ireland.

Both companies have worked together since 2016 in the Netherlands, extending the benefits of the enterprise solution provided by G2 Speech, SpeechReport, which is used widely in the European healthcare market. The companies are now looking to extend these benefits across the UK and Ireland.

LogicNets was established in 2004, they provide a strategic decision support platform used to help clinicians give on demand and timely access to guidance and supporting information. They offer decision-based structured reporting which uses G2’s integration, ‘Cursor for Integrators’. The solution provided by G2 Speech in partnership with LogicNets, will enable medical professionals to dictate their observations directly into dynamic rules-based report templates that can be integrated into the electronic patient record (EPR), picture archiving communication systems (PACS) and radiological and pathology laboratory information systems (RIS/LIS) workflows. This allows clinical data to be accurately and more efficiently captured and processed for downstream workflow and analytics.

G2 Speech, founded in 1998, provides digital dictation, speech recognition and workflow management solutions to the UK, Ireland, Belgium and the Netherlands. Within the UK, G2 Speech currently deliver solutions to over 40 major NHS Trusts. Globally G2 Speech has around 35,000 users accessing their solution every day.

This new partnership will provide pathologists, and other healthcare professionals alike, with the ability to not only create structured reports with actionable results, but also provide decision support on top of that. It will enable medical professionals to easily follow clinical processes and guidelines as they are guided through even the most complex decision trees to the appropriate diagnostic and treatment outcomes. This in turn saves time with diagnostics, supports decision making, reduces waiting times and ensures faster treatment for patients.

Paul Seegers, Advisor & Administrator, national pathology protocols (synoptic reporting) at PALGA Foundation has been using this new way of working since its introduction in 2014 in the Netherlands. PALGA — the national pathology foundation of the Netherlands — was created in 1971 to promote communication and information sharing among the 55 pathology departments in the country. The foundation currently supports over 500 pathologists and other clinical users, focusing on national directives such as improved outcomes and outcomes-based research.

Also known as synoptic (uniformed) reporting, PALGA has recently hit the 1.5 million mark of reports created using this way of working. Paul describes the need and benefits of using the technology, Pathology is constantly changing, and we could not keep our protocols up-to-date without a new flexible and highly intuitive system that would allow our experts to very rapidly model and maintain the decision-making processes underlying our protocols.” He points out that the reaction to the new system has been “uniformly positive” and reports that all the players grasped its potential and supported the project. “From the initial presentation to the PALGA Board and our development of the Framework through the first nationwide rollout, our pathologists were very impressed by the possibilities. We have been able to measure this success very tangibly.”

Bert Groeneveld, CEO at G2 Speech, “We’re delighted to offer LogicNets technology as part of our solution portfolio and to further build on our relationship with the Royal College of Pathology within the UK. The LogicNets product will equip healthcare professionals with additional intelligence, knowledge and support in even the most complex clinical environments ensuring appropriate diagnostic and treatment conclusions. The benefits extend beyond just the clinicians, but to referrers, higher management and most importantly, patients.”

Patrick Dowling VP Business Development at LogicNets“We’re very pleased to progress our partnership deal with G2 Speech and increase our presence within the UK and Ireland healthcare markets. This partnership enables professionals in pathology, radiology and other clinical fields to use advanced speech recognition to complete many more accurate and standardised reports in a timely and efficient manner.”

As part of National Pathology Week, G2 Speech and LogicNets will be presenting their joint solution at the CliniSys User Conference event at the Belfry, Birmingham on 7 and 8 November 2019.  For a demonstration or to find out more please visit www.g2speech.com or call (0208) 555 9041.
